Job summary

City of Boroondara is seeking a casual relief Library Officer to deliver friendly customer service across multiple library sites. You will work across various shifts, including weekdays and weekends, with availability during school holidays and public holidays.

Ideal candidates have a VCE or equivalent, the right to work in Australia, and the ability to safely lift and carry library resources. Working with Children check is preferred, and a current driver’s licence is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver friendly customer service across library sites.

• Support shelving and handling of library materials according to library procedures.

Job description

Hours are not guaranteed. You’ll need strong interpersonal and customer service skills, confidence with consumer technology, and flexibility to manage changing priorities.

Availability
Shifts may be offered weekdays (8am–9.15pm), Saturdays (9.30am–5.15pm), Sundays (12.30pm–5.15pm), and during school holidays, and public holiday periods.

Qualifications and Employment Requirements

Ability to safely lift, push and carry library resources.

Preferred applicants must hold a Working with Children Clearance and complete police and medical checks.

A current driver’s licence is advantageous.
