Job summary

SRG Global is seeking an experienced Mechanical Reliability Engineer to join our maintenance and engineering team in Australia. You will improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and ensure long-term mechanical integrity of plant assets.

Focus areas include condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, RCFA, and implementing reliability-driven solutions. You will apply vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography and other techniques while collaborating with operations,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and strong analytical capability.
• 3–8 years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or mechanical engineering roles.
• Experience with condition monitoring techniques and technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography.
• Solid understanding of rotating and static equipment performance and failure modes.
• Proficiency with reliability tools including RCM, FMECA, RCA, and predictive maintenance analytics.
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Certification in vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, or CMRP/ARP-P is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to remote, heavy industrial sites frequently.
• Experience with multi-channel data acquisition, field measurement, strain and fatigue analysis is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) strategies for mechanical assets.
• Lead and support condition monitoring programs, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
• Analyse condition monitoring data to identify emerging equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement sustainable reliability solutions.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimise asset maintenance plans and strategies.
• Support planning and execution of shutdowns, overhauls, and equipment upgrades.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Provide reliability insights and technical support for capital and improvement projects.
• Complete defect elimination studies by applying advanced field measurement tools such as Motion Amplification and multi-channel data acquisition (vibration, strain, displacement, temperature, pressure and other inputs).
