Job summary

Aurizon is seeking a Reliability Engineer in Mackay to deliver civil engineering solutions that support safe and reliable asset outcomes across the network. You will collaborate with maintenance teams regionally to optimise asset reliability, reduce risk, and drive continuous improvement.

The role involves organising civil design aspects, reviewing designs for quality, and preparing comprehensive project documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering with practical experience delivering civil engineering solutions.
• Ability to develop and deliver civil designs and specifications across construction and maintenance.
• Strong stakeholder relationships and ability to work with guidance to deliver quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Organise and plan technical aspects of civil projects, including design, specifications, and safety in design for new and modified works
• Review, check, and audit civil designs from internal teams and external providers to ensure quality and compliance
• Prepare end-to-end project documentation, including requirements, procedures, testing, commissioning, and asset handover
• Ensure designs align with business and industry standards, and contribute to developing new processes, standards, and work practices

About the role

Aurizon is seeking a Reliability Engineer to provide civil engineering services that support the delivery of safe, reliable and commercially focused asset outcomes across the network.

In this role, you will contribute to the performance and integrity of civil infrastructure by delivering high-quality engineering solutions aligned to enterprise objectives. Working regionally, you will partner with operational and maintenance teams to optimise asset reliability, minimise risk, and drive continuous improvement across the network.

About you

You bring a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and practical experience developing and delivering civil engineering solutions. You are confident working with guidance, applying sound judgement and building strong stakeholder relationships to deliver quality outcome

• Develop and deliver civil engineering designs, specifications, and solutions across construction and maintenance activities
• Review, check, and resolve issues in engineering designs to improve system performance and ensure quality outcomes
• Plan and deliver work programs, including developing estimates, budgets, and schedules for project activities
• Contribute to the development and implementation of engineering standards, procedures, and best practice across the network
