Job summary

Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service in Hervey Bay is seeking a Registered Nurse (Nurse Grade 5) for our Surgical Unit. You will join a 44-bed ward under the leadership of an experienced Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory nursing qualification and current AHPRA registration with practising certificate.
  • Proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate authority; provide copies prior to clinical duties.
  • Context-specific postgraduate qualification in nursing is highly desirable.

Join our friendly 44-bed Surgical Orthopaedic Ward and become part of a supportive team dedicated to high-quality patient care. Led by an experienced Nurse Unit Manager and Clinical Nurse Consultant, our ward offers strong clinical support, mentorship, and professional development. Experience in surgical or orthopaedic nursing is desirable but not essential. Your opportunity:


  • The Registered Nurse (RN) provides clinical and patient-centred care within the Surgical Unit, supporting the facilitation and provision of quality and cost effective nursing services which are consistent with contemporary standards and evidence-informed practice.


Several Permanent Full Time (76 hours p.f.) and Permanent Part Time Positions (hours negotiable).

Qualifications and other requirements:


  • Mandatory possession of a nursing qualification from a registered tertiary institution or completion of an approved hospital training program and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.

  • Possession of context-specific postgraduate qualification in nursing is highly desirable.

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $128,480 p.a., comprising salary between $87,790 - $112,606 p.a. (f/t) or comprising salary rates between $44.28 - $56.79 (p/t), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Several Permanent Full Time, 76 hours p.f., and Permanent Part Time Positions, hours negotiable) (Applications will remain current for 12 months).
