Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Sydney Adventist Hospital (the San) is seeking a passionate Registered Nurse for the Radiology & Nuclear Medicine team. You will provide exceptional patient care across diagnostic and interventional procedures, supporting patients from preparation to recovery and discharge.

The role involves scrub/scout support, conscious sedation, post-procedural care, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with at least one year's post-graduate experience.
• Scrub/Scout experience in interventional procedures and management of conscious sedation and emergencies.
• IV cannulation accreditation.
• ALS certification or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and patient advocacy.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
• High empathy, emotional intelligence and patient-centred approach.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care across diagnostic and interventional procedures in Radiology & Nuclear Medicine.
• Assist with routine and complex Interventional Radiology procedures and sedation monitoring.
• Support post-procedural recovery and discharge planning.
• Deliver imaging-related patient care across Radiology and Nuclear Medicine modalities.
• Work with imaging technologies and clinical teams on a rotating 7-day roster.

What you will be doing in this role

As a Registered Nurse within our Radiology & Nuclear Medicine team, you will provide exceptional patient care across a diverse range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Working alongside radiologists, medical specialists, technologists, and fellow nursing professionals, you will support patients throughout their entire clinical journey, from preparation and procedural assistance through to recovery and discharge.

This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced nursing skills in a highly specialised environment. You will assist with routine and complex Interventional Radiology procedures, including scrub/scout responsibilities and the administration and monitoring of procedural sedation. You will also provide post-procedural recovery care, undertake patient assessments, and ensure the safe discharge of patients following their procedures.

In addition, you will play an integral role in supporting patients undergoing diagnostic imaging across a variety of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine modalities, delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centred care while working with leading imaging technologies and clinical teams.

This permanent opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and operates across a rotating 7-day roster, with shifts ranging from 6:30am to midnight. Participation in an on-call roster will also be required.

You'll bring:

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of one year's post-graduate clinical experience.
• Demonstrated Scrub/Scout experience in interventional procedures, with the ability to assist in managing conscious sedation, allergic reactions, and medical emergencies including Code Blues.
• IV cannulation accreditation.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient advocacy skills.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
• Highly developed empathy, emotional intelligence, and a patient-centred approach to care.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and computer systems to support safe, accurate, and continuous patient care.
