You will assess and implement neonatal care plans, support education for families, and contribute to continuous learning for the team while maintaining evidence‑based practice and safe care standards.

• Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is mandatory.
• Two years neonatal nursing experience or a relevant neonatal qualification is preferred.

Registered Nurse - Neonatal (Talent Pool)

Join the Special Care Nursery at Rockhampton Hospital and build your career in neonatal nursing while delivering high-quality, family-integrated care to babies and their families. As part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you’ll provide holistic, evidence-based care within a Level 4 maternity service and Special Care Nursery supporting families from across Central Queensland.

About us:
Rockhampton Hospital is the major referral hospital for Central Queensland, providing maternity care to women and families from Rockhampton and communities across the region, including women requiring more complex care.
A CSCF level 4 maternity service, the unit has 18 beds, five private birthing suites and a neonatal nursery to offer care across pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. The service includes Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) to support continuity of care and enable midwives to build strong, ongoing connections with women and families.
The maternity team also works closely with Gumma Gundoo, the local First Nations maternity service, to provide culturally appropriate care and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families.

About the role:
As a Registered Nurse in Rockhampton Hospital's Special Care Nursery, you'll provide high-quality, holistic and family-integrated neonatal care as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. You'll assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for babies and their families, respond to changes in clinical condition and contribute to safe, evidence-based practice. You'll also have opportunities to support patient and family education, contribute to a positive learning environment and develop your clinical leadership and neonatal nursing capability.

About you:
You are a compassionate Registered Nurse with a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality and family-integrated neonatal care. You'll bring sound clinical skills, effective communication and the ability to build respectful relationships with families, colleagues and the broader interdisciplinary team. You are committed to evidence-based practice, ongoing learning and adapting within a dynamic clinical environment. Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and a current practising certificate are mandatory. Ideally, you'll have at least two years of neonatal nursing experience and/or hold or be working towards a relevant neonatal qualification.

What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $128,480 p.a. is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $44.27 - $56.76 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
• 17.5% leave loading
