Shire Doctors & Dentists in Caringbah, NSW is seeking a motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, multidisciplinary team. You will support doctors with day-to-day patient care, immunisations and travel vaccines, and assist with clinical procedures in a modern clinic.

This Part-time / Casual role offers Monday to Wednesday availability with shifts from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We provide a supportive workplace and opportunities to develop general practice nursing skills.

Conveniently located at the intersection of Kingsway and Taren Point Road in Caringbah, our practice is only a short walk from Caringbah train station and close to Sutherland Hospital.

Clinical Responsibilities

• General practice nursing experience is highly regarded.
• Provide high-quality nursing care in accordance with current clinical guidelines and best practice.
• Patient triage and clinical assessment.
• Immunisations and travel vaccinations.
• IV cannulation skills and experience are highly regarded.
• Wound care and management.
• Chronic disease management and preventative health.
• ECGs and pathology specimen collection.
• Assist doctors with clinical and minor procedures.
• Provide patient education and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate and appropriate clinical documentation.
• Contact patients regarding results or follow-up as directed by doctors.
• Support patient care planning and coordination with other healthcare providers.
• Maintain clinical stock and supplies, including ordering and monitoring expiry dates.
• Maintain vaccine refrigeration and cold-chain requirements.
• Support infection control, accreditation and clinical compliance requirements.
• Maintain appropriate standards of privacy, confidentiality and professional conduct.

• Is reliable and flexible, with availability Monday to Wednesday between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.
• Works well with doctors, nurses, reception staff, allied health professionals and other healthcare providers.
• Has knowledge of Medicare item numbers and general practice software, which would be an advantage.
• Is comfortable assisting with telephone enquiries, appointments, correspondence and other administrative tasks when required.
