Job summary

Calvary Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology for a permanent full-time role in Waratah, NSW. You will deliver safe, patient-centred cancer care across diagnosis, chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy, while supporting families throughout the care continuum.

With AHPR AHPRA registration, 2+ years acute oncology experience, and ADAC certification, you will work in a fast-paced team, manage priorities, and contribute to salary packaging and leave entitlements.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with AHPRA registration to practise in Australia.
• Minimum two years’ post-registration acute experience in medical oncology.
• Current ADAC certification and demonstrated chemotherapy administration competence.
• Experience with venepuncture, IV cannulation and CVAD management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in oncology care.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred cancer care across diagnosis through survivorship.
• Support patients through chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy treatments.
• Assess patient condition and escalate changes promptly when needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise care.

Position Description

Registered Nurse Medical Oncology

Permanent Full-Time

4 Positions Available.

Salary Classification - Registered Nurse Year 3-8.

Remuneration - $45.71 - $57.88 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

The Medical Oncology Registered Nurse delivers safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care to people with cancer across the continuum of care. This includes supporting patients from diagnosis through chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy, symptom management, survivorship, and end-of-life care.

About You

• Registered Nurse authorised to practise in Australia by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Proven minimum two years’ post-registration experience (Acute) in medical oncology or a related clinical specialty
• Current Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC) certification and demonstrated competence in administering chemotherapy and other systemic anti-cancer therapies
• Demonstrated competence in venepuncture, peripheral intravenous cannulation, and central venous access device (CVAD) management
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support patients and families in a sensitive and emotionally demanding environment
• Ability to work effectively and calmly in a fast-paced clinical setting, managing competing priorities while maintaining safe, patient-centred care
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognise, escalation, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
