Job summary

Wuchopperen Health Service Ltd in Cairns, Queensland, invites applications for a Registered Nurse grade 1 to work with clinical staff in delivering culturally valid, holistic primary health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The role focuses on screening, assessment, follow-up and immunisation uptake, including Medicare EPC items, reporting to the Practice Manager and CNC, with no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Possession of a nursing degree with demonstrated experience in a similar position.
• Must have current registration with AHPR and Immunisation Endorsement preferred.
• Vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, pertussis and hepatitis B required.
• COVID-19 vaccination is highly recommended.
• Proof of qualifications and current registration must be provided before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide registered nurse level care at clinics including triage and acute assessment.
• Manage wounds, venipunctures and clinical data.
• Support immunisations and EPC item uptake with appropriate recall.
• Maintain quality assurance and safety aligned with accreditation standards.
• Support Health Workers and supervise practice where applicable.
