Job summary

SA Health in South Australia is seeking a compassionate Renal Dialysis Nurse for SALHN’s Noarlunga Centre Haemodialysis Unit. The role offers a 36-hour week with a pro rata salary ranging from AU$77,824 to AU$106,187 per year.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide person-centred care, coordinate services, support management and participate in audits and research to advance renal care standards.

Qualifications

  • Must be a qualified and registered nurse with current practicing certificate.
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience (FT) in renal nursing.
  • Demonstrated competence in renal nursing practice per relevant standards.

  • Provide direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients on a shift-by-shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time.
  • Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.
  • Assist and support Nurse Unit Manager in management, clinical and education activities.
  • Participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and/or evaluative research.
  • Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within a team/unit.

About the role:

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, some of your duties for the role will include:



  • Provide direct person-centred nursing/midwifery care and/or individual case management to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis in a defined clinical area with increasing autonomy over time,

  • Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs,

  • Assists and supports the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager or equivalent in management, clinical, and education activities,

  • Participate in clinical auditing, clinical trials and/or evaluative research,

  • Oversee the provision of nursing/midwifery care within a team/unit


About you:


  • Ability to work within a team framework that fosters an environment that develops staff potential,

  • Experience in evaluating the results of nursing research and integrating, where relevant, the results into nursing practice,

  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the clinical setting,

  • Clinical Nurse must have at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience,

  • Clinical Nurse must have demonstrated competence in renal nursing practice in accordance with the relevant standards

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
