Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking a Registered Nurse (Grade 2) to join the Youang Surgery Centre. The role covers pre‑ and post‑operative care in a fast‑paced Short Stay Ward, with responsibilities across clinical assessment, wound care, and patient education.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Surgical Short Stay Ward team. This fast-paced unit provides high-quality pre-operative and post-operative care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures with short recovery periods (typically 24–72 hours).

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, patient-centred care while ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to pre- and post-operative surgical patients
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, vital signs, and wound healing
