Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our cardiac specialty services in a temporary part-time capacity. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered care across the full range of cardiac services.

You will deliver pre and post-procedure nursing care, monitor patients with acute or chronic heart conditions, interpret ECGs, educate patients and families, and maintain meticulous documentation while collaborating with the broader medical team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within an acute care setting essential.
• Experience within cardiac services and/or a Post Graduate Certificate in Critical Care desirable.
• Flexibility to rotate rosters to meet unit demands.
• Exceptional communication, time management, and evidence-based holistic cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiac patients, including pre and post procedure care
• Monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
• Interpret ECGs and monitor vital signs, responding promptly to changes
• Educate patients and families on heart health, treatment plans and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate effectively with medical staff and allied health professionals

About Cardiac Services Bellarine Centre 5 (BC5)

Bellarine Centre 5 (BC5) is a 34-bed combined Cardiac service that consists of critical care, cardiothoracic and cardiology beds. Barwon Health’s Cardiac Services covers the complete range of diagnostic and interventional Cardiology, including a 24-hour emergency STEMI Service. The Cardiothoracic Unit performs a wide range of bypass graft, valve repair/replacement and Bental’s, complex thoracic surgery including pneumonectomies, lobectomies and wedge resections.
