The Royal Women's Hospital in Parkville, Melbourne, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (0.84 FTE) for a fixed-term role until February 2027. The nurse will manage patient care, support the Unit Manager and AUM, and contribute to teaching and development within a multidisciplinary team.
Key duties include assessing patient status, communicating care plans, coordinating with colleagues, and reporting incidents to improve practice.
The Royal Women’s Hospital is one of Australia’s oldest and most distinguished tertiary hospitals dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and newborns, offering specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women’s health. Our goal is to be the best place to work, learn and contribute, and to provide exceptional experiences for our patients and consumers.
The Women’s hospital offers treatment for all gynaecological conditions and is a tertiary referral centre for women with chronic pelvic pain, issues related to menopause, pelvic floor problems or other urogynaecology units. The Women’s also cares for women who are having a termination of pregnancy or who have complications related to reproductive biology such as IVF.
The major areas of focus for the cancer service are gynaecological and breast cancer. The Oncology Unit has integrated inpatient and low risk chemotherapy services to promote co-ordinated, patient focused care. Our nursing staff work across all these services. Qualified nursing staff are also rostered to work in the complex care unit which cares for women from both the maternity and gynaecology units who need increased monitoring and intervention.
As an Registered Nurse you will be responsible for ongoing clinical management of patients and for providing a high standard of nursing care. This role supports the Unit Manager and AUM group in promoting service development, quality assurance and the provision of a safe and supportive workplace. In addition, you will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team. The Women’s has a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring of new staff and the Registered Nurse is expected to actively pursue their own professional development and education and to support their colleagues and students of the Women’s.
