Job summary

The Tasmanian Department of Health is seeking a Registered Nurse - Community to deliver high-quality nursing care at George Town Hospital. You will work under the Nurse Unit Manager/Team Leader and support other senior nurses and health professionals to implement evidence-based practices.

Key duties include planning, implementing and evaluating patient care, and engaging with families and the health team to ensure optimum outcomes in a collaborative environment.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Driver’s Licence.

The Role

• The Registered Nurse - Community is accountable to and works under the general direction and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager/Team Leader and/or Clinical Coordinator/Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clinical Nurse Specialist and receives guidance and support from other senior experienced Registered Nurses and health professionals for initiating, implementing, and evaluating quality nursing care.
• In collaboration with members of the healthcare team plan, implement and evaluate patient/client care.
• Interact effectively with patients’/clients’ families and other health team members to facilitate the provision of optimum patient/client care.
• Active involvement in maintaining and continually improving the quality of patient/client care. This may include participation in research and evidence-based practice.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, casual, day worker position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible for approximately 24 months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Salary Packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
