Job summary

Lyell McEwin Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cardiovascular Investigation Suite on a temporary part-time basis (32 hours per week). This role focuses on diagnostic and interventional cardiac care within a busy, multidisciplinary team.

You will assist with ECGs, stress testing, echocardiography and monitoring, while maintaining documentation and upholding SA Health standards in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Experience in cardiology, catheterisation lab, or acute care setting.
• Demonstrated haemodynamic monitoring and arrhythmia recognition.
• Strong assessment skills and patient-centred approach.
• BLS certification and SA Health safety framework knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care in the Cardiovascular Investigation Suite for diagnostic/interventional procedures.
• Prepare patients for ECGs, stress testing, echocardiography and cardiac monitoring.
• Monitor patient responses and escalate as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per SA Health standards.

Lyell McEwin Hospital is one of South Australia's busiest public health services, and its Cardiovascular Investigation Suite sits at the heart of complex cardiac care for the Northern Adelaide community. If you're a Registered Nurse with a genuine interest in cardiology and want to apply your clinical skills in a dedicated, procedure-focused environment, this part-time contract role offers meaningful work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Delivering skilled nursing care within the Cardiovascular Investigation Suite, supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Preparing patients for investigations including ECGs, stress testing, echocardiography, and cardiac monitoring
• Monitoring and assessing patient responses during and after procedures, escalating appropriately
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation in line with NALHN and SA Health standards

What You'll Bring

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Experience in a cardiology, cardiac catheterisation laboratory, or related acute clinical setting
• Demonstrated ability to monitor haemodynamic status and recognise cardiac arrhythmias
• Strong patient assessment skills with a calm, considered approach under pressure
• Commitment to person-centred care that reflects SA Health's safety and quality frameworks
• Current Basic Life Support certification

To be eligible for this position, you must beRegistered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
