What you'll be doing
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team in the Cardiothoracic Stepdown and General Surgery Ward which also includes subspecialty such as ENT, plastic and reconstructive, head and neck, oral maxillary facial surgery and ophthalmology. Previous surgical experience is highly regarded but not essential, as ongoing education and training will be provided. As a Registered Nurse in our Cardiothoracic Stepdown and surgical subspecialty unit, you’ll provide individualised, patient-centred care that makes a real difference. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for patients and their families.
Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care tailored to patient needs
Respond effectively to changing patient conditions and delegate appropriately
Mentor and supervise staff and students to support learning and development
Coordinate discharge planning and make appropriate referrals
Advocate for patients and ensure culturally respectful care

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated recent nursing experience relevant to the position and commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice
Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care
Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care
Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology, written and verbal means,; and sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
