Job summary

South West Healthcare in Camperdown is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Camperdown Operating Theatre on a part-time, ongoing basis. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high‑quality perioperative care and positive outcomes for patients and their families.

The role supports a recently refurbished theatre offering general surgery, endoscopy, gynaecology and day-stay procedures, with operating 7 to 8 days per fortnight.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Post-graduate peri-operative qualification desirable but not essential.
• Strong clinical, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Provide perioperative nursing care within Camperdown Operating Theatre.

• Salary Range: $86,580 to $107,510 per annum, plus superannuation

About the role

South West Healthcare is seeking a skilled and motivated Registered Nurse to join the Camperdown Operating Theatre. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care and positive outcomes for patients and their families.

This opportunity is well suited to a Registered Nurse with an interest in perioperative nursing who is looking to build their experience within a supportive and team-focused environment.

Our recently refurbished Operating Theatre, completed in 2023, provides a modern, well-equipped setting delivering planned surgical services to the local community and surrounding regions. Services include endoscopy, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, minor plastics, and obstetrics, with a strong focus on day stay procedures. The theatre works closely with the Camperdown Acute Ward to support continuity of care.

Operating 7 to 8 days per fortnight, the Camperdown Operating Theatre plays an important role in improving access to surgical services and reducing wait times across our rural catchment. You will be joining a team committed to patient-centred care in a progressive clinical environment.

What You Bring:

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Well-developed clinical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills at all levels.
• Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
• A post-graduate qualification in peri-operative nursing is desired but not essential.
