Job summary

Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Opioid Treatment Program, delivering person-centred care with autonomy in a collaborative team. The role supports adults with alcohol and other drug use within a trauma-informed framework across multiple site locations.

The role offers a permanent part-time arrangement (24 hours per week) with opportunities for professional development and involvement in high-quality care aligned to NSW Health policies and MoH

Qualifications

• Be a registered nurse with current practicing certificate in Australia.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and recovery-focused care for AOD clients.

About the role

A nursing role in the alcohol and other drugs sector offers mentally stimulating work and provides a high level of autonomy and empowerment. You’ll work within a collaborative team that enables a culture of support. The Registered Nurse Opioid Treatment Program coordinates and delivers high-quality person centred nursing care in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Standards for Practice for Registered Nurses, and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Northern NSW Local Health District (NNSWLHD). The alcohol and other drugs workforce work for the greater good through an open, flexible and dynamic, strengths-based approach. We are a team as diverse as the vibrant communities we support Nursing care is provided utilising the principles of Trauma Informed Care and Recovery for people with Alcohol or Other Drug (AOD) issues. The Opioid Treatment Program service delivery requires working at a primary site as well as satellite sites within the network.
