Job summary

The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Outpatients Clinics team at Northwest Regional Hospital on a permanent part-time basis. You will contribute to the holistic patient journey, including waitlist and referral management, within a dynamic multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse, with duties spanning direct patient care and coordination across allied health staff.

The Team:

This role will work as part of the Outpatients Clinics team at the Northwest Regional Hospital.

The Outpatient Department at the Northwest Regional Hospital has 14 consulting rooms. We offer general medical, surgical, gynaecology, orthopaedic, respiratory, paediatric, stomal therapy, cardiology, cardiac rehab, neurology, neurosurgical, dermatology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, nephrology, staff health and various procedure clinics and nurse led clinics.

The team consists of administrative staff, nursing (EN and RN), graduate nurses, CNCs, Nurse Practitioner, and technicians. The environment is fast paced, ever changing and requires excellent time management skills on all levels.

The Role:

The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of a Registered nurse to achieve planned patient outcomes. In the Outpatient Clinics the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the holistic journey of the patient and will be involved with referral management, waitlist management, front line care and supporting the multidisciplinary team.

You will need:
  • To adapt to change regularly.
  • To work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • To deliver holistic care to our patients supporting their journey through the outpatient clinics, including waitlist and referral management.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, day worker position, working up to 24 hours per fortnight, commencing Sept 14th 2026 (or as close to as possible)

  • notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary:

$80, 524 to $109, 175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
Salary Packaging
