Job summary

The Special Care Nursery at Mercy Health is recruiting a neonatal nurse for a 12-month maternity leave cover contract. You will provide high quality, family‑centred care to babies born from 32 weeks gestation and support their families.

To be successful, you must be an AHPRA-registered RN or Midwife with recent experience caring for sick or premature neonates; a post‑graduate qualification in Special Care Nursery or NICU is desirable, and you will complete required police checks and vaccination

• Post graduate qualification in Special Care Nursery / Neonatal Intensive Care desirable.

About the opportunity

The Special Care Nursery is a 15-bed Level 4 unit, providing exceptional family-focused care to for babies born from 32 weeks gestation. We are seeking a motivated, experienced neonatal nurse to join our friendly, supportive team for a 12 month maternity leave cover contract.

• Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
• A strong commitment to delivery of high quality family-centred care
• Highly developed interpersonal skills
• Recent experience caring for sick or premature neonates
• Post Graduate qualification in Special Care Nursery / Neonatal Intensive Care desirable

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
