Respect Tongala Memorial in Tongala, Victoria is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our caring team on a casual basis. You will provide safe, contemporary nursing care to residents and report to management, with on-going collaboration with the Care Manager.

The role requires current AHPRA registration, strong clinical and documentation skills, and knowledge of aged care standards. Flexibility across all shifts Monday to Sunday is essential, promoting dignity and genuine connection

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Knowledge of Residential Classification Scale and Standards for Aged Care.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Knowledge of government standards for aged care delivery.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of the aged care accreditation process.

Responsibilities

  • Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs by participating in resident admissions and ongoing assessments.
  • Maintain a high level of documentation which accurately reflects care delivery.
  • Develop, implement and regularly evaluate resident care plans as directed and assist with resident admission assessments.
  • Assist with the direct clinical care of residents as required, including personal hygiene, massage therapy, pain management and GP rounds.
  • Administer medications to residents and manage ordering, storage and documentation per policies.

About the Position:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to provide safe, competent and contemporary clinical nursing care to residents within the scope of practice as determined by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). On a day-to-day basis this position shall report to the Care Manager and General Manager. Indirect reports shall include other organisational management representatives.

Key Duties
  • Compile a comprehensive history from residents and/or family members to identify care needs by participating in resident admissions and ongoing assessments.

  • Administer medications to residents and assume responsibility for correct ordering, storage and documentation procedures in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Knowledge of the Residential Classification Scale and Standards for Aged Care.
  • Current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • Knowledge of the standards required by the government for the delivery of aged care.
  • Strong clinical and documentation skills.
  • An understanding of the aged care accreditation process.
