Job summary

MSS Security is seeking a Nurse with emergency department experience to join the site emergency response team in Moranbah, QLD. You will provide first response to incidents and support health, safety and HSE activities while coordinating with paramedics, nurses and ESOs under supervision.

The role involves injury management, return-to-work duties, drug testing and fitness-for-work assessments. FIFO arrangements apply and a current AHPRA registration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum two years' ED rural/remote nursing experience preferred.
• Immunisations up to date (including tetanus, hepatitis A&B).
• HLTPAT005 qualification/applied clinical risk awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide first response to incidents and injuries on site.
• Assist a team of paramedics, nurses and ESOs under SEM Supervisor.
• Support injury management and return-to-work duties for workers.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing and fitness-for-work assessments.
• Maintain site clinic standards, including audits and stock control.
• Assist with training and HSE activities (e.g., PPE fit testing).
• Collaborate with site Health teams to promote on-site health initiatives.

About the role

This dynamic and busy role will utilise your experience in Medical Response & Injury and Health Management and offer rewarding career opportunity. You will be part of the site emergency response team by providing first response to all incidents and will be responsible for supporting the site training and HSE activities. This role offers a roster providing work life balance off – 7 on/ 7 off roster with both day/night rotations. This position is based in Moranbah QLD and is a FIFO role for those who do not reside locally.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide first response to incidents and injuries on site
• Assist a team of paramedic, nurses and ESOs to respond to emergency activations under the direction of the SEM Supervisor
• Assist in injury management and return to work duties for injured/ ill workers
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing and fitness for work assessments
• Maintain site clinic standards, including auditing and ordering of drugs and equipment
• Assist with training and HSE activities as required (such as PPE fit testing)
• Working with the site Health teams to promote health initiatives on site

Skills & experience

• Bachelor of Nursing current AHPRA registration
• Minimum of two years' experience in ED Rural/ remote nursing experience highly desirable HLTPAT005
• Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
• Australian drivers licence - C class, open licence
• Full Australian Work Rights
• Current up to date immunisations - tetanus, hepatitis A&B
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite
