Job summary

BaptistCare Northaven in Kerang, VIC is hiring a Registered Nurse (Grade 1 – Grade 2 Year 1) for a full-time 6-month fixed-term contract. Compensation is $41.17–$43.57 per hour with NFP benefits.

You will provide safe, high-quality, person-centred care, lead the care team, and support residents and families in a busy aged care setting. This role requires Australian working rights and AHPRA registration.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Suitable for Registered Nurses Grade 1 through Grade 2 Year 1.
• Availability to work PM shifts across all 7 days with AM shifts on Fri–Sun as required.
• Experience in aged care or with elderly people is highly regarded but not essential.

• Lead and support care staff, ensuring practice is within scope and standards.
• Maintain clear, respectful communication with residents, families and colleagues.

THE ROLE

As a Registered Nurse at BaptistCare Northaven Community, you’ll provide safe, high-quality, person-centred clinical care while leading and supporting the care team around you. This is a role with real clinical responsibility and real human connection.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for Registered Nurses who are at the beginning of their RN career, from Grade 1 through to Grade 2 Year 1, and who are passionate about providing exceptional care in a supportive aged care environment.

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Suitable for Registered Nurses from Grade 1 through to Grade 2 Year 1.
• Availability to work PM shifts across all 7 days of the week, with AM shifts on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as required.
• Previous aged care experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Experience in aged care or with elderly people (highly regarded but not essential)
• Confident clinical leadership — you’re comfortable guiding a care team and holding the standard
• Strong communicator — clear, respectful, and consistent with residents, families, and staff
• Comfortable with basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Proof of working rights in Australia
