Job summary

Healthcare Australia in Adelaide is seeking a Registered Nurse for a casual role focused on detainee mental health and wellbeing. You will provide clinical and mental health support, assess needs, and contribute to care plans.

Joining a multidisciplinary team, you will conduct mental health assessments, risk assessments, and crisis interventions, while documenting progress in the electronic medical record and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold current AHPRA registration.
• Experience in mental health care and trauma‑informed approaches is highly desirable.
• Commitment to person‑centred care and patient safety is essential.

Join us in bringing a new approach to medical and wellbeing care for detainees by:

• Providing clinical and mental health support for people in detention with mental health presentations including complexity and risk, development of mental health recovery plans, medication management, referrals and discharge planning.
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, and relevant key stakeholders to facilitate the provision of coordinated mental health care and treatment.
• Undertakingthe timely completion of mental health assessments including formulation, risk assessment, psychological treatment, crisis intervention, crisis management plans, outcome measures, documentation of progress in the electronic medical record system, discharge summaries and other required documentation and activities as required.

Lets talk about you:

You'll hold current AHPRA registration and relevant qualifications, with at least five years of clinical experience (hospital and community nursing). Qualification, experience and interest in Mental Health (Trauma Informed Care), along with a strong commitment to person-centred care is highly desirable.
