Job summary

Panacea Health Centre in Klemzig, SA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our nursing team, initially part-time with potential progression to full-time permanent employment for the right candidate.

This is an opportunity to join a growing general practice and play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals and families in our local community. You will work with GPs and the practice team across a broad range of clinical and preventive healthcare services.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current NMBA registration via Ahpra
• Previous general practice experience is an advantage but not essential
• Willingness to learn and develop general practice nursing skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, professional, patient-centred nursing care within scope of practice
• Support GPs with patient care, procedures and follow-up
• Administer vaccinations and other treatments within scope
• Provide wound care and routine treatment room procedures
• Support chronic disease management and health assessments
• Provide health education and preventive advice
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Follow infection prevention and clinical safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organised treatment room and equipment
• Communicate effectively with patients, GPs and the practice team
• Escalate clinical concerns when necessary
• Participate in recalls, follow-up and preventive healthcare activities

Job Description

Panacea Health Centre is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our nursing team, initially on a part-time basis, with the opportunity to progress to full-time permanent employment for the right candidate.

This is an opportunity to join a new and growing general practice in Klemzig and play an important role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care to individuals and families in our local community.

As a General Practice Nurse, you will work closely with our GPs and practice team across a broad range of clinical and preventive healthcare services.

Your role will include:

• Immunisations and vaccinations


• Wound assessment, treatment and dressing changes


• Health assessments and preventive health checks


• Chronic disease management and care planning


• Women's health and cervical screening


• Childhood health checks and immunisations


• Treatment room procedures


• Assisting GPs with minor procedures and clinical care


• Taking and recording patient observations


• Patient education and health promotion


• Patient recalls and follow-up


• Care coordination and ongoing patient support


• Accurate clinical documentation


• Infection prevention and control


• Maintaining treatment room equipment and clinical supplies


• Supporting the day-to-day clinical operation of the practice


• Other general practice nursing duties within your scope of practice

Key Responsibilities

You will provide safe, professional and patient-centred nursing care while working within your scope of practice, level of competence and relevant clinical guidelines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing patients and identifying nursing and health needs


• Supporting GPs with patient care, procedures and follow-up


• Administering vaccinations and other treatments within your scope of practice


• Providing wound care and routine treatment room procedures


• Supporting chronic disease management and health assessments


• Providing practical health education and preventive health advice


• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records


• Following infection prevention and clinical safety procedures


• Maintaining a clean, organised and appropriately stocked treatment room


• Communicating effectively with patients, GPs and the practice team


• Recognising and appropriately escalating clinical concerns


• Participating in recalls, follow-up and preventive healthcare activities

About the Candidate

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via Ahpra who is caring, reliable and committed to providing quality patient care.

Previous general practice experience is an advantage but not essential. We welcome nurses from general practice, hospital, community, aged care or other clinical settings who are interested in developing their skills in general practice.

Ideally, you will:

• Hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse


• Have a caring, professional and patient-focused approach


• Be confident with general nursing and treatment-room procedures within your scope of practice


• Have good communication and interpersonal skills


• Be organised and able to manage your workloadBe comfortable working independently and as part of a small team


• Have basic computer skills and be willing to learn our clinical software


• Understand the importance of infection prevention, clinical safety and accurate documentation


• Recognise and appropriately elevate clinical concerns


• Be reliable, professional and willing to learn
