Job summary

NSW Health’s Cooma Maternity Unit invites applications from a Registered Midwife. You will provide women‑centred maternity care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, using best‑practice evidence, and you may supervise and support less experienced clinicians to promote safe, high‑quality care.

This is a permanent full‑time, part‑time, or temporary full‑time position located in Cooma, offering up to 38 hours per week and a remuneration range of AU$81,748 to AU$114,772 per year (gross).

Qualifications

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife with evidence of recent clinical experience.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining professional competence.
  • Effective professional verbal and written communication within a diverse multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide women-centered maternity care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Provide supervision and support for less experienced clinicians to achieve people-focused quality care.

Cooma Maternity Unit experiences approximately 140-150 births a year, with 2 birthing rooms and 3 postnatal rooms. There is a part time Clinical Midwifery Educator to support the team with ongoing education and professional development opportunities. What you'll be doing
The Registered Midwife using best practice evidence provides women-centered maternity care in collaboration with individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team. Provides supervision and support for less experienced clinicians to achieve people focused quality care.

Selection Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife with evidence of recent clinical experience and skills in relation to the position, and a strong commitment to maintaining professional competence.

Demonstrated effective professional verbal and written communication within a diverse multidisciplinary team.
