The Role

We are seeking experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurses to work in acute and sub-acute inpatient expanding specialist forensic mental health service.

Working with patients presenting with complex needs, including dual diagnosis, your trauma-informed approach, clinical observation, comprehensive assessment skills, and de-escalation techniques will make a genuine impact on patients experiencing severe mental illness.

As part of a new multidisciplinary early-intervention forensic team, you will deliver recovery-focused nursing care to individuals with mental health diagnoses who have a history of offending or are at risk of offending behaviours. This role suits experienced registered nurses who have developed trauma-informed engagement skills, are compassionate and emotionally resilient, and are able to thrive in dynamic hospital environments.

Key Selection Criteria

• Minimum two years of post-registration psychiatric nursing experience.
• Post Graduate Certificate in Mental Health.
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Experience within an acute and/or sub-acute inpatient mental health setting.
• Experience within a forensic mental health setting is highly advantageous.
• Currently living and working in Australia.
