Maitland Private Hospital, the only private hospital in the region, invites applications for Perioperative Nurse roles in its Day Surgery Unit. The positions are PPT and casual, welcoming Registered and Enrolled Nurses with perioperative experience and a commitment to patient-centred care.

Registered and Enrolled Nurses – Day Surgery

The hospital encompasses 185 beds, 6 operating theatres, 10 bed ICU, with associated rehabilitation, medical and surgical Wards. Our services include two major medical centres, a dedicated mental health unit, an on-site cancer centre including radiation oncology, radiology practice and pathology laboratory.

Your new role as Perioperative Nurse:

Due to the growth in our Perioperative Service, Maitland Private Hospital is seeking PPT and casual Registered and Enrolled Nurses to join our friendly and dynamic Day Surgery Unit team.

About you (essential criteria):

Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.

Minimum 12 months recent post graduate experience in a Day Surgery Unit and/or Perioperative Unit with demonstrated understanding of surgical procedures and perioperative services.

Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement with an understanding of NSQHS and ability to apply to clinical care.

Demonstrates ability to function independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Organisational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical timeframes.

A positive attitude and an adaptable approach to problem solving and decision making.

Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights required.

Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.

Demonstrated understanding of clinical governance as relevant to nursing practice.

Familiarity with desktop applications, including WebPAS and UKG (Kronos) highly regarded

Understanding of Private Hospital landscape.
