Job summary

Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation QLD – Mackay QLD is seeking a Ranger (Safety) to provide hands-on support and guidance across a geographically dispersed region. The role focuses on Work Health and Safety leadership, incident investigations, and program-wide safety improvements.

Based in Mackay, Rockhampton, or Townsville, the successful candidate will travel to remote park bases and offices across Queensland to oversee safety and training requirements for multiple work

Qualifications

• Strong background in Work Health and Safety
• Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing controls
• Proven ability to coordinate safety training across multiple sites

Responsibilities

• Support management to meet safety obligations and responsibilities
• Develop and implement Work Health and Safety standards
• Coordinate and lead risk assessments and implement control measures
• Ensure incidents, near misses and hazards are reported and investigated
• Analyse safety data and recommend improvements
• Coordinate training programs and maintain training records
• Engage with regional staff to ensure safety compliance
