Job summary
Australian Venue Co. is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead the kitchen team at White Bull Tavern Roma, with a December start and potential to transition to another nearby venue before settling in Roma.
Located in Roma, the pub serves hearty pub favourites and a busy family-friendly atmosphere. The role offers full-time hours, onsite accommodation, relocation assistance, and sponsorship potential after 6 months for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- Recent experience as Sous Chef or senior CDP ready to step up.
- Experience in busy pub, bistro, or commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with a hands-on approach.
Responsibilities
- Assist Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Lead and mentor kitchen team during service.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
- Assist with menu planning, stock control and ordering.
- Ensure food safety and kitchen compliance standards are maintained.
- Support kitchen cost control and waste management.
- Train and develop junior cooks.
- Keep kitchen clean, organized and efficient.
- Step up to run the kitchen when required.
