Job summary

Northern Territory Government in Katherine is seeking a Senior Administrative Officer 1 to advance regional initiatives in the Big Rivers Region. Help turn regional priorities into practical outcomes for the Big Rivers Region.

Join the Department of the Chief Minister and Cabinet’s Big Rivers team in Katherine and contribute to the delivery of the Northern Territory Government’s priorities: Rebuilding the Economy, Reducing Crime and Restoring the Territory Lifestyle.

Working in a small regional team, you will bring government agencies, community organisations and other stakeholders together to progress regional initiatives and projects. Your work will span economic development, community safety, liveability, Aboriginal Affairs, and emergency and disaster recovery.

You will manage priority projects, build productive partnerships and prepare high-quality briefings, reports and advice to support regional leadership and government decision‑making. You will also coordinate staff activities to support the effective operation of the regional office.

This role offers varied and challenging work for someone who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and following projects through to delivery. You will work across cultures and diverse perspectives, with opportunities to travel to remote communities throughout the region.

Based in Katherine, you will work in a region with diverse communities, distinctive landscapes and important agriculture, horticulture, resources, tourism and Defence sectors. It is an opportunity to broaden your experience and build your career while contributing to the region’s future.
