Job summary

Queensland Government’s QBuild is seeking qualified Refrigeration Mechanics to join regional teams across the state. You’ll carry out refrigeration and air‑conditioning works for government assets, including schools and health facilities, and help maintain essential public infrastructure.

You’ll work in a collaborative, safety‑driven environment with opportunities to mentor apprentices and advance your trade; a 9‑day fortnight and generous leave are among the benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate/qualification (minimum of Certificate III Air-conditioning and Refrigeration).
• Current Full Refrigerant Handling Licence.
• Current Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Current Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refrigeration and air-conditioning works, for both construction and maintenance services.
• Demonstrate proficiency in office and email applications such as Microsoft Word or Outlook and input data using the computer or hand-held electronic devices.
• Understand safe working methods in terms of asbestos and lead based products, and any other relevant high risk construction work.
• Comply with all WHS legislation and site rules including daily task risk assessments, identify hazards and risk, and comply with reasonable health and safety policies or procedures that have been notified to workers.
• Demonstrate personal responsibility for the health safety and wellbeing of yourself and ensure that your conduct, acts or omissions do not adversely affect the safety of other persons or property
• Demonstrate behaviour that supports a diverse, equitable and safe workplace, with a strong customer focus.
• Train, mentor and provide professional support to apprentices at all year levels.
