Job summary

Brizfix Solutions in Brisbane, Queensland, seeks an experienced Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team on a full-time basis. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain domestic refrigerators, commercial, and industrial refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Current Refrigeration Mechanic certification or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia.
• Minimum 1–3 years hands-on experience in domestic refrigerators and/or commercial/industrial refrigeration maintenance and repair.
• Solid knowledge of refrigeration principles, thermodynamics, and system design.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment used in refrigeration work.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety compliance.
• Preferred experience with both domestic and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Preferred knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair domestic refrigerators, commercial, and industrial refrigeration systems and components.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration equipment using specialised testing equipment and tools.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on refrigeration systems to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity.
• Replace faulty parts, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and control systems.
• Conduct refrigerant handling, recovery, and charging in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Test refrigeration systems for leaks and pressure, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
• Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work completed.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair estimates, timelines and maintenance recommendations.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and industry best practices on job sites.
• Respond promptly to emergency service calls and troubleshoot issues on-site.
