Job summary

Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a Diversional Therapist Level 1/2 to deliver recovery-focused therapy at Cumberland Hospital, North Parramatta. The role supports a multidisciplinary team within NSW Health and offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, recovery-oriented care.

The position is permanent part-time (32 hours/week) with a base hourly remuneration of $40.05–$57.14. Applicants must have a recognised degree in Diversional Therapy and be eligible for DTA Australia

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Diversional Therapy is required.
• Eligibility for membership with the Diversional Therapy Association of Australia National Council.
• Current unrestricted NSW Driver's Licence with willingness to use for work.

Responsibilities

• Enhance recovery by delivering evidence-based diversional therapy in mental health.
• Complete assessments and deliver person-centred diversional interventions.
• Design, facilitate and evaluate therapeutic leisure and recreation group programs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain clinical documentation and outcome reporting per NSW Health standards.
• Participate in supervision, quality improvement and professional development.
