Job summary

Herbert Smith Freehills in Melbourne seeks a Solicitor to join our leading Band 1 Real Estate team. You will work closely with Partners Jane Hodder and Niresha Mudalige on high‑profile matters for national and international clients.

You will handle diverse real estate work, including development, capital transactions, investments, joint ventures, and complex leasing, with opportunities to collaborate across the network and develop client relationships.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years post-admission experience.
• Admission as a lawyer in Australia or New Zealand.
• Experience across a range of real estate matters including development, capital transactions, investment and joint ventures.
• An excellent academic record coupled with strong legal skills and a practical mindset.
• A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of our leading and supportive team.
• An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Work on a diverse range of real estate matters for national and international clients.
• Collaborate with Partners Jane Hodder and Niresha Mudalige and the wider Partner group.
• Handle development agreements, capital transactions, investments, JV structures and leasing, including complex deals.
• Develop a network of client relationships and contribute to market-leading practice.
