Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to direct the Rail Traction team in Blacktown. You will plan and allocate work, provide frontline technical and safety guidance, and ensure maintenance quality across electrical assets within a defined area.

The role requires leadership of experienced electrical staff, knowledge of 1500V overhead wiring, and strong planning capabilities to maintain continuity of service for Sydney’s rail network.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate required; plus Authorised Traction Operator and Live Line Worker.
• Extensive experience with Rail Traction Networks and 1500V overhead wiring.
• Experience leading electrical teams in heavy rail environments and strong planning skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Rail Traction team and manage workload allocations.
• Provide frontline technical and safety advice to Work Groups.
• Review forward maintenance plans and mitigate key issues.
• Coordinate switching/isolations administration.
• Support multi-discipline initiatives and foster teamwork.
• Uphold safety authorities and accountabilities across tasks.
