Job summary

Aurizon in Kalgoorlie is seeking an experienced operational leader to oversee safe, efficient and customer-focused delivery of terminal and logistics operations. Reporting to the Terminal Operations Manager, you will lead frontline teams to achieve safety, service and performance, manage budgets and assets, and drive continuous improvement across road and rail operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics/rail terminal environments.
• Previous line leadership in large-scale logistics or heavy industry.
• Experience with SAP preferred.
• Ability to influence and negotiate with diverse work groups.
• High level of interpersonal skills for cross-functional communication.
• Understanding people issues and their business impact.
• Strong computer skills and use of operating systems.
• Demonstrated leadership of a team.
• Extensive knowledge of operations in road and rail.
• Knowledge of road coordination and terminal operations.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise processes.

Responsibilities

• Sustain safety culture and implement safety standards, systems and initiatives to a standard of excellence.
• Meet DIFOT targets and on-time running to satisfy customer KPIs.
• Develop and monitor budgets; control costs and maximise revenue.
• Maximise asset utilisation and labour productivity across the business.
• Capitalize on growth opportunities in freight and sales.
• Collaborate with other teams to achieve objectives and optimise resources.
• Direct allocation and deployment of resources to meet operational and customer needs.
• Provide frontline leadership throughout the employment lifecycle.
• Develop methods for safe resolution of non-routine problems.
