ARTC in Melbourne is seeking a Qualified Signal Technician to maintain and repair signalling and communications equipment along a designated rail corridor. You will perform inspections, diagnose faults, and ensure certifications are completed accurately, contributing to safe and reliable rail operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified Signal Technician, Cert 4 with relevant trade or technical experience.
• Knowledge and practical ability to implement rail safety management, OHS principles, and electrical codes of practice.
• Experienced in field fault finding, maintenance, and repair of signalling systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Driver’s Licence – Class C

Responsabilités

• Install, modify, maintain, and repair signalling and communications equipment in line with technical maintenance plans, signalling standards, and safe working procedures
• Conduct inspections and testing of signalling equipment, diagnose and isolate faults, and ensure all required certifications are completed accurately.
• Install and maintain mechanical signalling, locking, and interlocking systems
• Maintain signalling infrastructure, including aerial telecommunications lines and cabling
• Respond promptly to emergencies and equipment irregularities, ensuring systems are safely restored to service
• Maintain tools, materials, vehicles, and equipment in good working order
• Identify and recommend improvements to maintenance practices and work processes
• Support the optimisation of infrastructure performance and availability
