About this role:

Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects team, the Rail Safety Manager role will see you provide expert guidance and oversight on rail safety matters for the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) program, ensuring all projects comply with Queensland Rail requirements and relevant legislation.

Purpose That Counts – Some of the responsibilities of the role:

• Provide strategic rail safety advice focused on construction activities across Logan and Gold Coasts major projects
• Lead and mentor a team of Safety Specialists
• Ensure all project activities meet rail safety legislation, participant management systems, and contractual obligations
• Drive a proactive safety culture within the Construction Safety team
• Oversee delivery of site-based safety activities, including inspections, monitoring, training, and awareness sessions
• Take ownership of technical safety advice, coach team members and stakeholders in safety leadership, and act as the escalation point for risk management, incident investigations, audits, and safety systems

• Extensive knowledge of safety systems, risk management, and assurance practices
