Job summary

Evolve Scientific in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking a permanent R&D Chemist to join our cosmetics development team. You will research, design, formulate and optimise cosmetic, personal care and sunscreen products for internal and external customers.

Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will create specifications, document technical data, and perform in-house SPF and stability testing. A BSc in Pharmaceutical/Formulation Science/Chemistry and sunscreen formulation experience are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative cosmetic, therapeutic and personal care formulations for internal and external customers.
• Research emerging ingredients, technologies and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Design, formulate, optimise and troubleshoot products to achieve targeted performance, sensory, stability and cost objectives
• Create and maintain formulation records, product specifications, manufacturing procedures and technical documentation.
• Develop Product Information Sheets, technical data and supporting product claims documentation.
• Create and maintain raw material specifications and product master data.
• Undertake in-house SPF, water resistance and photo-stability testing

Duties
