E. B. Mawson & Sons Pty Ltd seeks a qualified Quarry Operational Trainer to support sites across northern Victoria and southern NSW.

The role focuses on delivering practical instruction, coordinating heavy equipment training, and ensuring competency assessments align with safety and regulatory standards. You will work with Quarry Operations, Learning & Development, and Safety teams, hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and travel as required with overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment required with at least 2 years in a training or supervisory role.
• Cert IV in Surface Extraction Operations or Diploma of Surface Operations Management or equivalent quarry experience will be highly regarded.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating excavators, front end loaders, dump trucks, telehandlers, water trucks and mobile crushing and screening plant.
• Strong communication and instructional skills with the ability to train employees at different skill levels.
• Current Driver’s license and ability to travel throughout northern Victoria and southern NSW with overnight stays.

Position Available: Full Time Quarry Operational Trainer – Northern Vic, Southern NSW

We seek a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join our team in this full-time role of Quarry Operational Trainer, supporting staff at our quarry sites located throughout northern Victoria and southern NSW. Working closely with Quarry Operations, Learning & Development and Safety teams, you will deliver training and ensure competency assessments align with business needs and compliance requirements. This role reports directly to the Mawsons Quarries Operational Training Manager and works in partnership with site-based Quarry Managers/Supervisors to plan and schedule training activities. You will also liaise with the Learning & Development team on training frameworks and record keeping, and with the Safety team on compliance, risk controls, and incident learnings relevant to training. This role offers flexibility for the successful candidate to be based at any suitable Mawsons site across northern Victoria or southern New South Wales.

Duties include:

Supporting our Quarry Division and Learning and Development team to provide a safety-first culture across our operations.

Co-ordinate and deliver instruction for heavy equipment and machinery operations on quarry sites, including excavators, front end loaders, dump trucks and crushing and screening operations, with a heavy focus on practical instructional training.

Co-ordinate and apply Heavy Equipment Simulator training for quarry operations, including session scheduling, scenario selection, and integration into competency development plans.

Conduct competency assessments and issue Verification of Competency (VOC) documentation for relevant roles and equipment, in line with site standards and compliance requirements.

Maintain training and competency records, manage refresher training requirements and support compliance with legislative, regulatory and industry standards.

Support the L&D team as required.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, with at least 2 years in a training or supervisory role.

Cert IV in Surface Extraction Operations / Diploma of Surface Operations Management or equivalent experience in quarry operations will be highly regarded
