Qualifications

• PhD in a related discipline or equivalent research experience.
• Experience using nanofabrication techniques to create nanophotonic structures.
• Experience building optical instrumentation with computer interfacing for microscopy.
• Biological assay experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality academic research independently.

Responsibilities

• Contribute in collaborative research to enhance outcomes in the discipline.
• Conduct research and enable teams to produce scholarly output recognised by peers.
• Undertake research projects under guidance of a leader and develop activities.
• Support dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels.
• Undertake discipline-appropriate research activities and data collection.
• Participate in conferences and workshops related to the project.
• Assist supervision of research students when required.
• Develop instrumentation for nanoscale optical trapping with diamond-based sensing.
• Use cleanroom techniques to fabricate nano-structured photonic devices.
• Perform assays to quantify magnetic responses of optically trapped objects.
