Job summary

Altus Financial is seeking an experienced Quality & Risk Manager to strengthen our quality, risk and compliance environment within a growing professional services firm. You will own the ongoing development and operation of our frameworks, focusing on Audit and Business Services, with AFSL compliance oversight.

Working with Directors and senior leaders, you will embed quality and risk management across the business and influence how governance is embedded in daily operations.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, audit or professional services.
• Strong understanding of audit quality, professional standards and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with AFSL compliance or financial services regulation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve quality management and risk frameworks.
• Oversee quality and risk processes across Audit and Business Services.
• Coordinate internal audit quality and file review programs.
• Identify quality issues and drive remediation and continuous improvement.
• Support Partners and teams with quality, risk, independence and client acceptance.
• Maintain quality and risk policies, procedures and monitoring.
• Oversee AFSL compliance framework and monitoring program.
• Coordinate incident, breach and compliance management processes.
• Monitor changes in professional standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support external regulatory and professional quality reviews.
• Provide quality and risk reporting to Partners and senior management.
• Deliver practical guidance and training across the firm.

About You

You will bring strong professional judgement together with a practical approach to quality and risk.

Ideally, you will have experience within an accounting, audit or professional services environment, with a strong understanding of audit quality, professional standards, risk management or regulatory compliance.

Experience with AFSL compliance or financial services regulation would be advantageous but is not essential.

CA, CPA or another relevant professional qualification will be highly regarded.

Importantly, you will be comfortable working directly with Partners and senior leaders, able to constructively challenge when required, and capable of translating complex professional and regulatory requirements into practical solutions.
