Job summary

Www.chandlermacleod.com is looking for Quality Measurement Operators for a residential opportunity at Cape Lambert. Applicants should possess a C Class Driver’s Licence, and a Forklift Licence is desirable. Strong work ethic and reliability are essential, along with a willingness to learn. A competitive hourly rate of $53-$55 plus super is offered for this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect and prepare samples.
• Maintain and troubleshoot sample stations.
• Monitor processes including sizing and material flow.
• Operate HMI screens and respond to alarms.
• Conduct basic chemical analysis.
• Work with automated sampling systems.
• Monitor lab equipment performance.
• Coordinate sample pick-ups with team members.
• Work across Cape Lambert operational areas.

Quality Measurement Operator (Laboratory) | Cape Lambert | Residential Opportunity

Overview

We are currently seeking Quality Measurement Operators to support Rio Tinto operations at Cape Lambert, working with a leading iron ore producer. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for candidates looking to break into mining and laboratory operations—no prior experience required, just the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Location & Roster

• Location: Cape Lambert (residents of: Point Samson, Wickham, Roebourne only)
• Roster: Sportsman 5/5/4 (day & night shift rotation)
• Shift Length: 12.5 hours
• Pay Rate: $53–$55 per hour + super
• Assignment Length: Up to 12 months for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting, preparing, and transporting samples (CLA CLB)
• Maintaining and troubleshooting sample stations
• Monitoring processes including sizing and material flow
• Operating HMI screens, responding to alarms and system alerts
• Conducting basic chemical analysis
• Working with automated and robotic sampling systems
• Monitoring lab cells and equipment performance
• Liaising closely with team members for sample pick‑ups and workflow coordination
• Working across both Cape Lambert areas, with daily area allocation

• Comfortable with physical, hands‑on work and manual handling
• Reliable, safety‑focused, and able to work rotating day/night shifts
• A good communicator who enjoys working in a team environment
