Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager in Fremantle to lead the QMS aligned with ISO 9001 and AS 9100. You will oversee audits, drive continuous improvement and ensure products meet customer expectations.

Join a dynamic team in Australia, with responsibilities spanning internal audits, corrective actions, external certifications and travel to Maritime Australia sites (15%). A Bachelor's degree and QMS experience are required; NV1 clearance is needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent is highly desirable.
• AS9100 Auditor qualification or experience highly desirable.
• Proven experience implementing and managing a QMS compliant with ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100.
• Ability to hold an NV1 Security clearance is required

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continually improve the QMS per ISO 9001 and AS 9100.
• Ensure QMS integrity during planned changes.
• Conduct regular audits and develop corrective actions.
• Monitor quality metrics to identify trends and improvements.
• Lead root cause analysis and problem solving for quality issues.
• Coordinate external audits and certifications as primary ISO/AS9100 contact.
• Educate and support teams on new processes and quality requirements.
• Travel to Maritime Australia Sites 15%.

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System (QMS) that aligns with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 requirements. The QAM ensures products and services consistently meet or exceed customer expectations. The QAM will oversee all quality processes, conduct audits, manage corrective actions, and drive the continuous improvement of the QMS. The primary responsibility will be to oversee the implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 standard across all departments, while driving a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, implement, maintain and continually improve the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 requirements.
• Ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes to the QMS are planned and implemented.
• Conduct regular audits to identify areas of non-compliance and develop appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
• Lead and facilitate root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
• Coordinate external audits and certifications, serving as the primary point of contact for ISO 9001 and AS 9100 related matters..
• Educate and provide guidance and support to teams during the development and implementation of new processes, products, and services to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Travel to other Maritime Australia Sites will be required (15%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management) or equivalent work experience.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent is highly desirable.
• AS9100 Auditor qualification or experience highly desirable.
• Proven experience in implementing and managing a quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100.
• Ability to hold an NV1 Security clearance is required
