Job summary

Rotor Studios is seeking an experienced QA Lead to lead and develop our Quality Assurance function. This hands-on leadership role will manage the end-to-end QA workflow across Rotor projects and mentor a small QA team.

You will translate client specs into QA requirements, conduct visual audits, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards across web applications, configurators and digital assets. Flexible, hybrid work options are available.

Responsibilities

• Leading the end-to-end QA workflow across Rotor projects and deliverables.
• Managing, mentoring and developing a small QA team, including training, cross-training and performance reviews.
• Defining QA scope, testing approaches, quality benchmarks, entry and exit criteria, and best-practice processes.
• Translating client specification documents into clear development and QA requirements.
• Conducting visual audits of client specifications and preparing visual-audit documentation outlining required changes across Rotor assets and applications.
• Ensuring visual-audit documentation is completed and shared with Client Services and internal teams within five business days of receiving client specifications.
• Ensuring MAT assets, post-production deliverables, and Digital vehicles and accessories meet client specifications.
• Performing hands‑on functional, compatibility, regression and exploratory testing across Rotor applications and software platforms.
• Coordinating regression testing for released configurator builds, and web applications before deployment.
• Working with department leads to define defect lifecycles and Jira workflows across projects.
• Monitoring defect status and working closely with Development, Production and Project Management teams to drive issues through to resolution.
• Creating and maintaining reusable QA documentation, templates, processes and quality standards.
• Identifying and implementing improvements to QA workflows, release processes and delivery practices.
• Identifying suitable automation opportunities and building, maintaining and improving automated test scripts.
• Completing fortnightly resource forecasting and managing QA effort and budgets across projects.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys improving processes, solving complex quality challenges and supporting a team to deliver exceptional work. You will manage the end-to-end QA workflow across Rotor projects, work closely with technical and production teams, and help shape the standards, tools and automation practices that support high-quality delivery.

What are we looking for in a QA Lead?

• As our QA Lead, you will oversee QA activities across a range of Rotor projects and deliverables, including vehicle configurators, web applications and digital assets.
• You will lead and mentor a small QA team, define testing approaches and quality standards, translate client specifications into clear QA requirements, and work with teams across the business to manage quality, defects and release readiness.
• You will bring a practical, detail-oriented approach to testing, as well as the confidence to improve processes, identify automation opportunities and manage competing priorities across multiple projects.

You’ll be working on a variety of tasks, including:

You will have:

• Previous experience in a QA Lead, Senior QA, Test Lead or similar quality assurance role.
• Experience developing QA processes, standards, test plans and reusable documentation.
• Strong experience using Jira and managing defect workflows.
• Experience with test automation and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for quality.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and abstract‑thinking skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, resources and budgets effectively.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with a collaborative approach.
• Familiarity with Perforce or other source‑control and asset‑management tools.
• Familiarity with Python, C++, Unreal Engine is highly regarded.
