About the Role: Responsibilities
  • Hands on, standalone role reporting directly to the General Manager.
  • Validation and compliance of the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • Facilitate product compliance testing, internal and external.
  • Implementation of new policies, procedures and undertaking corrective actions.
  • Update the QA manual, HACCP, and documents, to meet company, regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Check, collate and file quality control monitoring records.
  • Advise Senior Management team on risk management in the kitchen and corrective action.
  • Communicating with production employees and senior management of any food safety or quality concerns.
  • Training employees on food safety and quality requirements.
  • Assist with research and development in relation to product development, production and procedures.
  • Conduct HACCP assessment of new products.
  • Respond to items related to quality assurance raised by regulators and customers in a timely, and efficient manner.
  • WH&S - identify potential safety issues to minimise risks to staff.
About You: Demonstrated Capabilities
  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the Food or Beverage industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian food regulations.
  • Able to work autonomously, and collaborate well in a team.
  • Experience in performing quality control testing of fresh and frozen products including packaging assessments.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. With the ability to adapt style for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experienced in internal auditing, technical investigations and report writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ISO standards and HACCP requirements in food processing.
