Job summary

We are expanding our Quality and Compliance team with a permanent, full-time position to strengthen systems, support audit readiness and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality and compliance in community aged care and disability services.
  • Desirable exposure to ILU compliance and related processes.
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration clinical or quality experience.
  • Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel across sites.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards, the Aged Care Act 2024 and related legislation.
  • Collate, analyse and interpret information to identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports with clear trend interpretation, risk implications and practical recommendations.
  • Lead or support action on audit findings and monitor corrective actions.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and influence practice improvement.
  • Provide guidance balancing regulatory requirements with operations and quality outcomes.

Montefiore’s Quality and Compliance team is expanding, creating an exciting opportunity for a Quality and Compliance Specialist to join the Quality and Compliance department.

In this pivotal role, you’ll support our commitment to excellence in aged care and community services. This is an opportunity to play a key role in strengthening quality systems, supporting audit readiness, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and related legislation.

Reporting to the General Manager of Quality and Compliance, you will work collaboratively across departments to design, implement, engage with and monitor systems that enhance quality and safety. You’ll be responsible for maintaining policies, procedures, and resources that align with best practice and regulatory requirements and assist with developing and/or presenting education as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Montefiore’s leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen ongoing compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards, the Aged Care Act 2024 and related legislation through proactive, risk-based advice and support for sustainable practice improvement.
  • Collating, analysing and interpreting complex information to identify risks, trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Preparing and presenting reports that provide accurate analysis, clear interpretation of trends, risk implications and practical recommendations to support service leaders and governance forums.
  • Leading or supporting responsive action to audit findings by providing guidance, education, mentoring and advice to service leaders, and monitoring the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing practice improvement through clear communication, collaboration and practical problem-solving.
  • Providing guidance to leaders and supporting negotiated solutions that balance regulatory requirements, operational realities and quality outcomes.

About you:

You bring extensive experience as a quality and compliance professional within community aged care sector. You’re detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised, with very strong written and verbal communication skills. You enjoy collaborating with a range of stakeholders and thrive on using your clinical and quality expertise to make a meaningful impact. With a solid understanding of the quality improvement cycle, you’re confident in interpreting data, preparing and presenting reports, and influencing best practice outcomes.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in a quality and compliance role within community aged care and disability services, including Support at Home, Home Care Packages (HCP), Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP), and NDIS-funded services.
  • Desirable â Exposure to Independent Living Unit (ILU) compliance requirements, including related risk, complaints and quality assurance processes, would be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration (highly desirable).
  • Previous quality/auditing experience along with a formal quality related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration clinical or quality experience.
  • Experience supporting external audits and regulatory reviews.
  • Excellent report writing, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience preparing submissions and responses to regulatory bodies, including the ACQSC and SIRS.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and databases (intermediate to advanced)
  • Whilst you will be based in Randwick you will be willing to travel across sites as required.
