Job summary

DA.MET Australia is seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our team. You will assist with installation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of mechanical systems, working with diesel engines and marine/industrial equipment.

The role spans workshop and field service, with emphasis on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. You will operate alongside experienced technicians, using equipment from Volvo Penta, Scania, MAN Engines and ZF, and you should hold a trade qualification, a current license,

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanic or equivalent.
• Experience with diesel engines and marine/industrial machinery.
• Current driver''s license; forklift/HR tickets advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, maintenance and repair of engines, transmissions and related systems.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical components.
• Diagnose faults and perform fault-finding.
• Prepare and maintain tools and materials for service work.
• Complete servicing to manufacturer and company standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment.

We are currently seeking a qualified Mechanic to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hands-on tradesperson who enjoys working with leading engine and drivetrain brands in a dynamic workshop and field service environment.

About the Role

As a Mechanic at DA.MET Australia, you will be responsible for assisting with and carrying out the installation, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. You will work alongside experienced technicians and play an important role in ensuring our customers receive reliable and professional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of engines, transmissions, and associated mechanical systems.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical components and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults and performance issues.
• Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for service work.
• Complete servicing and repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
• Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
• Provide support on workshop and field service projects as required.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualification as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent.
• Experience working with diesel engines, heavy equipment, marine engines, or industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
• Current driver's licence.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Experience working with Volvo Penta, Scania, MAN Engines, or ZF products.
• Experience in marine, transport, industrial, or construction equipment sectors.
• Forklift, HR/MR licence, or other relevant tickets.
