Job summary

Miller Leith is partnering with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit a Quality Assurance Assistant Manager for their regional QLD processing facility. The role reports to the QA Manager and leads a team of QA Officers and Lab Tech to ensure food safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance on site.

This hands-on leadership position requires close collaboration with production, implementing QA programs, audits and corrective actions, and driving a strong quality

Qualifications

• Experience leading QA teams within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety programs.
• Experience with audits, regulatory compliance and corrective actions.
• Meat processing experience is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the QA team, including training and shift coverage.
• Oversight of daily quality assurance and food safety programs across the facility.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate internal, regulatory and customer audits, maintaining audit-ready records.
• Investigate complaints and non-conformances, driving corrective actions.
• Maintain QA procedures, work instructions and document control.
• Collaborate with production and site management to drive continuous improvement.
• Support QA Manager with compliance, reporting and improvement initiatives.
